Seriously???? When does this crap stop? If you chose to come to Canada because you thought it would be a better place, stop trying to make it the same as where you came from.
This is what was in the SUN this morning and this is what I wrote. I bet they don't print this one...

Edmonton police working on hijab option for uniform

Once again Political Correctness is running amok. Why is it that Canada has to bend to immigrants who choose to move to this country? Yes, some would argue that we are all immigrants but those who fought for us in WW1 and WW2 fought under the Canadian flag. They did not fight under the Canadian flag and the Polish, Italian or some other flag. They were immigrants but fought under one flag, that of Canada, their new chosen country.
Were any one of us to move to a country, say in the middle east, where such head wear is commonplace, and we chose to join a local police or military force, we would be told in no uncertain terms what the uniform would be. Yet when these various ethnicity's move to Canada, they want, no insist, that we change our uniforms (among other things) to suit them. That is unacceptable.
The other aspect to this is that some would say the head wear has a religious connotation. Well then, religion has no place in the uniforms of our police or military and hence should not be allowed. And if you allow the Hijab, then what says a Burqa is disallowed? And for those of you who would say this headwear does not have a religious component, then I rest my case. It has no place in our uniform code.
Enough of this Political Correctness foolishness. It's time to "grow a pair" and say enough is enough. We have more important issues to deal with.

Division of the human family into two distinct political groups began some
12,000 years ago. Humans existed as members of small bands of nomadic
hunter/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains in the summer and
would go to the beach and live on fish & lobster in winter.

Cash

Money, the root of all evil as they say, is something we all need to keep on hand.

Now in a real bad survival type situation, where the grid goes down for a lengthy period of time, money will probably be useless. That’s when you get into bartering goods, but that’s a whole other topic. However, for short duration situations like a power outage that lasts several days, money talks. We’ve already seen numerous scenarios like this across North America. A storm or other incident knocks the power out and guess what, no debit machines!

Organization 101

So you’ve finally admitted to yourself that you should be a little more squared away in the event of an unforeseen event. You have now stockpiled extra food stuffs, water, some first aid products, reading material etc. It’s all stored in that closet or spare room. So how will you access what you need in a timely fashion? Any situation that places you under stress will make it more difficult for you to make decisions on the fly.

We've been saying this for a long time as have some of the "switched on" people we deal with on both sides of the border but only now is the mainstream (otherwise referred to as lamestream) media actually catching on. Rampant uncontrolled immigration across North America has set us up for this perfect storm.

Now if your going to go off on us for being "rascist" or some other tangent, don't waste your time, we won't read it. Of course not all immigrants are terrorists and we don't paint them with the same brush. So save your breath.

However, there are terrorist elements in Canada. Our own government admits to it (because they knowingly let them in) and CSIS admits to "watching" over 50 different groups as well as over "350" known individuals. Look it up.

So now we have individuals openly calling for activities within North America. Hello !  New York Times Square attempted bombing, Boston Marathon, etc. If you think these are just isolated incidents, you really do have your head in the sand.

The media also says that Syria may be the cause of WW3. Seriously, WW3 started decades ago. Africa; vehicle born bombs blew up embassies, hundreds of Americans killed. USS Cole was attacked and bombed, several servicemen killed. World Trade Centers attempted bombings, World Trade Centers knocked down by airplanes. These are just a few incidents. Again, look it up. We've been under direct attack for the last 3 decades. Yes these have been directed towards the US, however we are neighbors and share this continent so it's not just "their" problem.

Check out this latest article: Al Qaeda calls for attacks inside United States

If your interested in the preparedness side of things, check out this page. They have a ton of great information. Almost too much to absorb, but certainly worth having a look. In any event, read, watch the news, be aware and don't get caught with your head in the sand. Oh, the site is called Prepper Chicks.
