Confiscations In Canada

Update: March 01, 2014: There was such an uproar over the Swiss Arms that this almost slid under the radar. The RCMP have also reclassified the CZ 858 rifle. This has been a non restricted gun for years and it is now prohibited. The roll on confiscations and reclassifications continues. If you have not contacted your MP yet, it needs to happen asap. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation on this matter.

In most ways, Canada is a great country. We have jobs, a relatively secure economy and so much more. But here is the catch. If you think you live in a true democracy, you are deluded. This is especially true if you are a firearms owner.

In most democratic nations, you are innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. In Canada, as a firearms owner, you are considered guilty until you can prove your innocence and even then, you may still be charged anyway. We're not making this up. Case law backs us up on this. But now we face something even worse; confiscations. As this is being written, February 27, 2014, the federal government through the national police agency, RCMP, is commencing the confiscations of firearms that have been legal in this country for years.

Why would they do this? It's all part of their ultimate goal of civilian disarmament. Why else would they still sit on the UN committee for disarmament refered to as the small arms trade treaty? How do they do it? Easy, the RCMP simply take a firearm that they don't like and say that is is a "varient" of something else that is already prohibited or they say that it can be "easily converted" to that prohibited status. Then they go and get an "Order In Council" which doesn't require any parliamentary oversight and then change said firearm to a new "prohibited" status. The next order of business is to go to the owners of said firearms and take them. No compensation, nothing, just take them.

This is not right nor should it ever be if we are truly living in a democracy. Write the PM's office. Write your MP. Do not let this activity go unchallenged. Do not think that your singular letter or email won't make a difference. We need everyone to step up to the plate. It's time to remind Ottawa who they work for, not against.

Segregation In Martial Arts Classes

Well this is exactly what annoys the crap out of me and sheds light on this mess we have rammed down our collective throats called multiculturalism. In the middle of the last century, the US figured out that segregation was wrong and they changed their constitution. No longer would people of color have to move to the back of the bus. Then later in the last century, a scourge of Liberalism swept across Canada under the gaze of P.E.T. Then PM Trudeau couldn't cuss out or give the finger to us enough so he changed our constitution to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, of which we have neither. Now we exist in the 21st century where segregation will become the new norm in order to not "offend" a religious edict. Well, "NEVER" in one of my classes or seminars. If it offends you...too damn bad.

Seriously???? When does this crap stop? If you chose to come to Canada because you thought it would be a better place, stop trying to make it the same as where you came from.
This is what was in the SUN this morning and this is what I wrote. I bet they don't print this one...

Edmonton police working on hijab option for uniform

Once again Political Correctness is running amok. Why is it that Canada has to bend to immigrants who choose to move to this country? Yes, some would argue that we are all immigrants but those who fought for us in WW1 and WW2 fought under the Canadian flag. They did not fight under the Canadian flag and the Polish, Italian or some other flag. They were immigrants but fought under one flag, that of Canada, their new chosen country.
Were any one of us to move to a country, say in the middle east, where such head wear is commonplace, and we chose to join a local police or military force, we would be told in no uncertain terms what the uniform would be. Yet when these various ethnicity's move to Canada, they want, no insist, that we change our uniforms (among other things) to suit them. That is unacceptable.
The other aspect to this is that some would say the head wear has a religious connotation. Well then, religion has no place in the uniforms of our police or military and hence should not be allowed. And if you allow the Hijab, then what says a Burqa is disallowed? And for those of you who would say this headwear does not have a religious component, then I rest my case. It has no place in our uniform code.
Enough of this Political Correctness foolishness. It's time to "grow a pair" and say enough is enough. We have more important issues to deal with.

History Of The World

Division of the human family into two distinct political groups began some
12,000 years ago. Humans existed as members of small bands of nomadic
hunter/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains in the summer and
would go to the beach and live on fish & lobster in winter.

National Pride

How many of you have heard the name Omar Khadr ? This man is a waste of skin, caught fighting and killing NATO troops in Afghanistan. His family openly supports terrorists. Why some knobs in our society are wasting time trying to assist this guy and his family is beyond me, beyond all comprehension. People are fighting for his release from the Edmonton Max. A local educational institution wants to accept him with open arms.  Let me tell you something, having a passport does not make you Canadian. Being a Canadian makes you one. Not an Asian Canadian, not an African Canadian, not a Polish Canadian, just being a Canadian…period. All those soldiers who went and fought in World Wars I and II only flew one flag…the Canadian flag. Even though most of them were immigrants from many countries, their allegiance was to their new homeland…Canada. It’s about time we renewed our “National respect”. How many times do you see people at hockey or football games willingly stand up and remove their hats for the National anthem? How many actually "sing" the anthem? They are too busy texting people to ask if they can be seen on TV. How many martial arts tournaments are started with the lining up of participants and the singing of the National anthem? Where is the pride in being Canadian, because we're not seeing it. How many flag poles do you see at private residences with the Canadian flag flying proudly?
