Quite some time ago, we offered up some information on preparedness. We were actually quite surprised on how well this information was received and numerous people even came into the shop to ask Dianne how she fashioned / organized her Bug Out Bags. So on that note, we decided to start another page on Tactical and Preparedness Tips offered up by us and some technical advisors that we network with.
Some of these tips will be new to you, some of them you will know, some of them you may have known but forgotten. We hope all of them will keep you thinking about your responsibility to always be mentally and physically prepared for the benefit of you, your family and your community.
Our technical advisors and us believe it is the individuals responsibility (not Governments or other agencies) to take the initiative to be well prepared with the proper equipment, training, and mental attitude to not only survive a crisis but be victorious. One only needs to look at Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans to understand the importance of this. The City had four days notice of the impending storm and floods. No one moved. The City had hundreds of school buses at its disposal to move people. None were utilized. People were already under flood waters before they tried to stock up on water and essentials by looting stores. Now it was too late to move. The people blamed the City for not keeping them safe and secure, watered and fed. The City blamed the state and the state blamed the Feds. Yet it was the citizens themselves who were in “condition white” and clueless to their pending predicament.
It’s highly unlikely that we will see a hurricane here in Edmonton but we have had severe tornado’s and extreme winter storms. The Province as a whole has been experiencing power “brownouts” and these are expected to get worse as the power grid has not kept up with development, hence power requirements. That forces us to survive at the very least for possibly hours, off the grid. We should be prepared for worse. As has been said before, we are martial artists and as such we train to make our minds and bodies strong. We should also be prepared to not only look after ourselves but those who cannot look after themselves such as the weak, handicapped or elderly. Hopefully you can glean a few tidbits of knowledge from this page. Stay tuned for more additions.
What’s on the Horizon?
I recently had this video forwarded to me from the NRA. There is a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes that rarely makes the “lamestream” media. This video touches on some of that.
So here is your waiver. Ignore the blatant salesmanship in this video and the personal endorsements. But listen to the overall message. Also, yes this is American, but we are virtually the same with minor differences in government, law etc. Never the less, Canada is a welfare state and when the fecal matter hits the rotating turbine, guess who will start rioting first when the government can’t provide their “free shit”.
Our world is a fluid environment, ever changing. As this is being written, Brussels just had a terrorist bombing. Things were just starting to get normalized after the Paris bombing, and now this activity is front and center again.
Locally, our economy is tanking after a year of NDP rule in Alberta and 5 months of Liberal rule nationally. Over 30,000 unvetted refugees have been brought in to the country and the Liberals have tripled the national debt. Alberta’s energy sector has been squashed and the government wants to institute a tax on “nothing” called a Carbon Tax. When will Canadians have had enough? The government is putting us out of work, hence the welfare state, yet at the same time, they expect everyone else to pick up the slack via taxation to pay for everyone else’s free shit. We currently pay over 50 percent of our salaries in some form of tax. What will be your breaking point, 60 percent, 70 percent, or 80 percent? Then what? A tax revolt?
Last year a major electrical line was damaged in a storm. As a result, it had to be shut down for repair meaning the other major lines in the province had to pick up the slack. We were very close to seeing a major power outage in the province. Didn’t hear that in the media did you? What will you do when the grid goes down?
The current iteration of Liberal leadership is throwing our national sovereignty out the window. They are importing refugees at a furious rate and at a horrendous monetary cost to this country. Look at what is occurring in Europe as a result of this same mentality of immigration. What will you do when there are riots in the streets or a terrorist attack occurs (again) on Canadian soil?
You need to address these issues and make a cognitive decision to be prepared for the sake of yourself and those close to you. If nothing happens, you haven’t lost a thing. Food and supplies can still be utilized and you will have been smarter for the experience and not stressed out from being unprepared. Have a listen.
